Brandi Benedict Burger, '99
Brandi Burger, a 1999 graduate of Beaver Area High School, distinguished herself as an accomplished student-athlete. A four-year starter and four-year letter winner in softball, she was instrumental in leading Beaver to its first-ever Section Title in 1998 while guiding the team to four consecutive playoff appearances from 1996 through 1999.
During her high school career, she earned numerous accolades, including Beaver County Times 2nd Team All-Section in 1996 and 1997, and Beaver County Times 1st Team All-Section in 1998 and 1999. With an impressive .493 batting average, she consistently led the Bobcats in runs, stolen bases, and RBIs. Her exceptional performance earned her recognition on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Stars in 1998 and 1999. In addition, she was the recipient of the prestigious U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award.
Following high school, she continued her athletic and academic career at East Carolina University, where she competed at the Division I level. A four-year starter and letter winner, she balanced athletic excellence with academic achievement. She was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, served on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee in 2002 and 2003, and earned spots on the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll in 2002 and 2003.
Her commitment to education continued beyond athletics. In 2003, she graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, and later pursued graduate studies at Clemson University, where she earned a Master of Science in Biology Education in 2021.
She has dedicated her career to education, serving as a High School Science Teacher at Fox Chapel High School, where she continues to inspire students in the classroom. On the field she continues to coach and mentor young athletes as the Head Coach of the Outlaws 2032 Premier 11U travel fastpitch team.
Through her dedication as an athlete, coach, educator, and mentor, Brandi has exemplified leadership, perseverance, and a lifelong commitment to excellence. Her legacy continues to influence both the Beaver Area athletic tradition and the broader community.
