Heather Shaw Grisafi
Heather was the first player in the history of Beaver Girls AND Boys Basketball to score 1,000 points. She was 1st team all-section during her sophomore, junior and senior years and was a unanimous selection her senior year. She was named to the All-WPIAL team her senior year.
Heather led her team to the WPIAL Playoff wins and the Beaver Girls first-ever PIAA State Tournament berth. She received 12 varsity letters while attending BAHS in basketball, softball, soccer and cheerleading. She was the recipient of the KDKA Extra Effort Award in 1996, the Quigley Classic MVP in 1997 and the first female athlete to receive the Kay Lewis Award, presented by Pat Tarquinio. Heather was also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Government.
Heather graduated from Beaver in the top 10% of her class and was recruited to play basketball by Division I and Division II schools, but chose to play at Carnegie Mellon University. During her time at CMU, Heather performed medical research at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and co-authored an article that was published in the Journal of Human Pathology. She graduated with University Honors from CMU and attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College, where she graduated with honors.
Heather is a Musculoskeletal Radiologist and practices at Butler Memorial Hospital, where she is a partner within her group. She resides in Beaver with her husband, Dr. Frank Grisafi, and her two children, Mia and Lucca.
