Jerald Ingram
Jerald amassed quite a resume as a running back for Beaver Area HS football in the 1970s - Big 33 Game, All Star, All State, All Conference and North South Shrine selection.
He played fullback for the Michigan Wolverines (1979-1983) on teams that won 2 Big Ten Championships and played in the Rose Bowl. Jerald graduated from the University of Michigan in 1984 and served as a Wolverine graduate assistant coach in 1984 before joining Ball State University as tight ends coach in 1985 and running backs coach from 1986-1990.
Jerald joined Tom Coughlin at Boston College in 1991 as the team’s running backs coach, and later moved with Coughlin to the NFL in 1994 as running backs coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He remained with the Jaguars until 2002, and, even though Jacksonville was an expansion team, they finished in the top 10 in rushing 4 times during Ingram’s tenure.
Jerald joined the New York Giants in 2004 as running backs coach. Under his direction, the Giants finished in the top 10 in NFL rushing 4 times between 2004 and 2010, and the team won the Super Bowl in 2008, after a season in which Jerald’s running backs led the league in rushing. The Giants’ running backs that season - Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw - compiled a franchise record of 2,518 yards (5.0 yards/carry, 157 yards/game). Jerald also coached Jacobs and Bradshaw on the Giants’ run to the Super Bowl in the 2011-2012 season.
He was inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
Jerald and his wife, Kathleen, have a son, Julian, and live in Jacksonville, FL.
