Tim Brooke

During his time at Beaver Area HS, Tim earned the following recognitions:  WPIAL Doubles Champion with Tom Denbow (1967), WPIAL Singles Champion (1968) and State Doubles Champion with his brother, Scott (1970).  He was part of the the Bobcat Tennis team to win the WPIAL Championships in 1967.

Throughout Tim’s junior tennis career, he was ranked in the top 10 in the Middle States (PA, Delaware, New Jersey) and competed at the National Junior Championships.  He was awarded a full tennis scholarship to California State College (PA), where he was a 4-time State College champion in singles and doubles and was a quarterfinalist at the National NAIAs.

Tim spent 2 years in West Africa coaching the National Men’s & Women’s tennis team of Ghana with his brother, Joe.  He coached and trained nationally-ranked juniors and touring professionals at the prestigious Hopman International Tennis Academy in Florida.  He also coached the Women’s Tennis Team at Swarthmore College, guiding them to a MAC Championship.

Tim continues to compete in Senior National tennis tournaments, in addition to having won 4 National Senior Championships in Platform Tennis.  He recently earned a bronze medal at the US Open Pickleball Senior Championships in Naples, FL with his brother, Joe.

The Brookes family was voted by the U.S. Tennis Association as Tennis Family of the Year for the Middle States on two different occasions.
